Him saying this is reminding me when Matthew Perry admitted he was high af when he proposed to Molly (I can’t remember her last name). I hope Pete gets help and stays sober. I’m there as well but with alcohol so I know it’s not easy.

I've never been a heavy drinker but I do have friends who do a lot of nightlife (drag queens, DJs etc) and I find myself drinker more than I ever have and I'm like, ehhhh I hate how I feel the next day and it's just a total life destroyer. I hope things stay good for you on your sobriety journey

I really appreciate that 🧡🧡🧡 it’s definitely up and down for me. I’ll be sober for a week then binge for three days and thank God I’m still alive.

That's good. Yeah, I just got to a point of realizing how much I enjoy the buzz of two drinks and then I'm done. I remember those younger days of mine when I had to recount what happened and what I said or did. the worrrst

Not to be trite, but it really is just getting through one day at a time. I would also recommend a support group (SMART recovery or local outpatient programs if, say, 12 step programs arent for you)

Not trite at all. It wasn’t til recently how much “one day at a time” meant to me.

I have yet to attend an AA meeting and I know that’s controversial. But I feel like at least in the beginning, it may be good for me.

This might sound cheesy but you should print or get a calendar and for every day you're sober put one of those star stickers on that day. Seeing those stars accumulate will be exciting, maybe you can also piece together some patterns for the days you do drinks.

Sobriety is a journey and it's work, I wish you the best. You can do it bb!! <3

Doesn’t sound cheesy at all and I’ve thought of doing something similar. I have a white board on my front door and was tempted to write on it “do you feel good today?” and add a mark for every day to remind myself *why* I feel good. But of course all my dry erase markers stopped working lololol. Gotta go out and get some and start this tradition to keep me in check!

I appreciate your kind words and support 🧡🧡🧡

I don’t know why but you saying “journey” means a lot to me. Thank you! I hope to eventually comment on posts like this and support others.
