January 9, 2024 * Barry Keoghan says that "Saltburn" helped people stop looking at him as just a "freak child-man." In a new interview with GQ, the Irish actor opened up about how public perception of him has changed since the film was released last year - and he's relieved audiences are finally seeing him in a different light.
* Barry and Jacob Elordi were seen very flirtatious during the L.A. premiere of the film and Keoghan confirmed that it’s all very real and not just for cameras. “I’m really flirtin’, ”Keoghan said in an interview with GQ. “We were constantly close. It ain’t just for the cameras and the premiere[s]. Me and Jacob-he’s like a brother to me, honestly. I think when you’re comfortable with someone, you can be as close as you want, you know what I mean? It’s not like, ‘Oh, don’t come near me’-it’s like, I’m comfortable. When I’m comfortable around people, I’m comfy.”
* Keoghan also opened up about a flesh-eating disease that almost cost him an arm. The actor recalled that right before filming began for his Oscar-nominated performance on The Banshees of Inisherin, he caught the disease and worried he might die with doctors unable to completely reassure him that was not going to happen and telling him, “Well, we don’t know.”
