she carries the film. the cinematography is spellbinding. it is overly long though and given the subject matter, very gruelling to watch.
i found leo's acting to be veering into caricature at times, which was very distracting.

for roles in movies like his works with tarantino and even in gangs of new york or romeo & juliet it works, mostly because of the style of the directors but also the tone the other actors take. this is the first time it's actually really bothered me. i actually burst out laughing a couple times during the movie because of his facial expressions and general overacting.

She def should have been in it more but she's already in it plenty, I think a lot of the supporting cast was also great but yeah to me she's the clear standout. Hopefully the runtime doesn't dissuade you, I think it's well worth it to go
