Your team is supposed to get your name in people's mouths, collaborate, network, all that nonsense...so yeah, they weren't doing their jobs for her. It wasn't going to be the biggest most lucrative deal but she should have had something.

People with no other talent but their ass and Princess Jasmine face make it into billions… Taraji definitely had dead weight.

Why couldn't it have been a big, lucrative deal? Taraji is right on the money with saying that there were multiple opportunities for fashion house contracts, hell anything really.

You're right. My first thought was "Well if they're aiming for a fashion house, the biggest ones are already racist or going after someone in their 20s with no charisma instead of a talented person", and I should have worded that in a way that didn't diminish what she deserves

But what fashion house tho? I just don’t see her getting any kind of lucrative deals with luxury houses. Cookie was not some sort of fashion icon she think she was. They should have capitalised on Empire’s success and gotten her substantial movie roles etc.

That’s true, Cookie was for sure a very iconic character at one point, but I’m not sure if that would necessarily cross over into fashion deals and people wanting to dress like her? They should definitely have at least got her commercials and other endorsements though

Yeah I definitely could have seen her doing L’Oréal commercials et such. Judging by her comments here though she was expecting endorsed deals from Dior and YSL which is completely unrealistic sorry to say.

Y'all acting like Cookie wasn't serving head to toe luxury looks on those clothes or that her style was not obtainable. Like that's crazy.

Something with H&M or Express could have happened. H&M money and recognition is nothing to sneeze about.

Those are not fashion houses and she would be absolutely wrong for those as well. Like I’m sorry but Cookie/Taraji is just not a fashion icon that people would want to dress as.

I never said they were fashion houses, just that maybe a campaign at H&M would have been good money and exposure for Taraji. You lost me as no one wants to dress like Cookie. I admit that her character’s style is ridiculous at times(lingerie under the fur coat) but people do dress like her IRL and in my family circle.

It wouldn’t be for mediocre white mom’s or those who like to emulate them though.

It’s a very niche group of people who would have wanted to dress like Cookie. That just doesn’t translate into mainstream mass consuming target groups that fast fashion brands such as H&M are after. As I already mentioned, Taraji would have been best suited as a face/spokesperson for a cosmetics or a beauty brand such as L’Oréal or even high end brands like Dior. I mean the same goes for a lot of actresses of her generation. You’ll see Kate Winslet in a lot of makeup or skincare line ads but you’ll never see her fronting a ready to wear campaign, whereas someone like Zendaya can do all of that and more because she is universally admired both as an actress and as a bonafide style icon, which is why fashion houses are fighting over her.

I think D&G and Versace could have made it work.

I also see her in Gucci
