I got along ok with my SIL when her and my brother were married. However when they got divorced my other sister managed to make it about her and how she had to choose between my bro and his ex. But the ex made it easy for my sister and blocked everyone on our side of the family. My sister still complains about she lost her “best friend”, even though they both moved on and remarried. /family tea.

I have never met two of my sisters-in-law. We live on different continents.

One is lovely and she and I have the exact same birthday, but 20 years apart.

I have a BIL but I haaaaate him. He’s a libertarian edgelord who drops slurs like crazy. He’s a couple years older than me/my husband (31? 32?) but he’s such a petulant racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. manchild that it still surprises me that him and his brother (my husband) are related.

He doesn’t shower. Doesn’t do laundry. Can’t cook/take care of himself. Reeks all the time. I nearly lost it on him last Xmas when I heard him make an offhand, derogatory remark about immigrants and told my husband I’m never going to talk to him or interact with him again. (He’s an Army captain or something so luckily he’s overseas and I don’t have to see him much)

I think there's a military regulation personal hygiene. Though, I'm not sure if it's a specific military branch or the military as a whole.

I remembered one marine I used to know had to babysit another marine to get him to bathe and clean his room because he was reeking.

I get along very well with the one my mother is not so fond of. My brother pretty much married a version of me, not looks but personality . We both can be high maintenance, will pick disgusting food out of the meal and place it somewhere on the plate without any shame. And so on.

I love my SIL! she's super nice and fun and also does my hair ❤️ she's been in the family for over a decade and there's never been an ounce of drama, bless her.

I'm barely getting to know my SIL this holiday season and all she wants to talk about is vaccine conspiracies 😬 she postponed all of my nephews vaccines and her pediatrician threatened to drop her. She's big into essential oils. 🫣

I love my SIL; to be fair, she and my brother have been together since high school so there was a long time to get to know each other, but she's been instrumental in repairing some family trauma for my brother, so I adore her for that. And she's a great aunt!
