So, I also pictured murderbot that way, but that’s more about my projection and the author’s voice, I think, than what the book actually says. I woulda preferred a nonbinary actor, though.

I listened to the audiobooks and they were narrated by a man, so tbh I never pictured Murderbot as female. Even just going by text, I never pictured Murderbot as leaning one way.

Interesting! I'd never listened to the audiobooks, only read the books, but I definitely "pictured" Murderbot as... I don't know, modeled after a stereotypical feminine form, I guess.

I think I've been picturing Murderbot as Bubbles from Questionable Content, actually...

I only read the first one but in my head the voice of Murderbot was more female aligned. I was surprised when my boyfriend started listening to the audiobooks because they are narrated by a man. I think Murderbot is really meant to be nonbinary, but that's just based off my reading of the first book.

Murderbot is definitely agender (pronouns are it/its). It also doesn't have secondary sex characteristics. But I can see how it would come across as femme or masc.
