In theaters, I saw Wonka last week, which was fine, and The Boy and the Heron, which was good, if a little more abstract than I would have liked. At home, we watched Meet Me in St. Louis, which I liked a lot, and The Bishop's Wife, which was okay. I think that'll end up being it for Christmas movies this year aside from our annual Christmas Eve viewing of The Muppet Christmas Carol.

The holidays are really fucking up my movie-watching for the rest of the year, lol. Just booked The Color Purple for New Year's Day, and I will have to find time on the January schedule for The Iron Claw, The Teacher's Lounge, Ferrari, The Zone of Interest and Memory.

Society of the Snow looks fucking harrowing, but I've heard it's very good so I will probably watch at home where I can pause if I need to, lol.

I saw (and really liked, if not loved) All of Us Strangers a couple months ago, but I do want to revisit that one - had some mixed feelings on certain aspects and I'd like to see if a second viewing changes anything for me. And I already saw Freud's Last Session as well - it's fine, but it definitely feels like it was adapted from a play. Definitely a good one to watch with your parents.

Mad that my local theater is showing a bunch of great older movies while we're away.... I hope they encore some in January!
