There’s little that national treasure Helen Mirren can’t do.

The celebrated British actress is fearless on and off screen. She’s conquered Shakespeare on stage, appeared in a colourful variety of films - from The Queen and Trumbo to 2023's blockbuster Barbie - and even made a cameo in Kendrick Lamar’s Count Me Out music video. She’s no stranger to injecting a sense of exuberance and joy into her red-carpet style, whether it’s via a metallic Cadbury-purple trench coat in Cannes or a glittering mirrorball dress complete with hip-grazing platinum blonde locks.

Recently, Mirren sat down with Harper’s Bazaar UK to chat through her beauty bag (or “swagger bag”, as she calls it) and her mission to tackle ageism in partnership with L'Oréal Paris, with whom she’s worked with since 2014.
