Addiction is such a bitch. RIP.

i was really irritated by the fact that jennifer aniston insisted on letting people know he was clean, because whether he was or not should have no bearing on what a tragedy his death was. now i'm even more annoyed bc she clearly didn't know what she was talking about (i get that people lie to their loved ones, but imo she shouldn't have taken it upon herself to make those assertions).

i feel like there is a strange consensus that ketamine isn't dangerous, so i hope this wakes some people up.

It would’ve come from a good place. Some people are so vicious to addicts, that I understand her wanting to protect his memory.

no, i do understand that there was a protective instinct there. i just wish she would've thought it through, given how much time the cast took before making individual statements.

She's proven over and over that she's dumb.

Oh my goodness, this poor man. There's a reason why they used to call it "falling down the K-Hole." :(

not me personally, but i have an acquaintance who goes to the hospital for ketamine infusions for their treatment-resistant depression. if you're going to try it, ask your psychiatrist and do it in a clinical setting. i'd wager it's a bad idea to get at home ketamine treatments through a podcast or tiktok ad.

sorry, i deleted because i thought it was possibly in poor taste to ask about it in this post, but thank you for replying! yes, my psychiatrist's office offers it so i was thinking of trying it because my meds kinda suck.

personally, i don't think asking questions about mental health treatment is in poor taste here

I read his book last week and I was stunned that people tried to say he was killed or there some was type of conspiracy. Did those people read his book? He was like, extremely unhealthy and had multiple health emergencies and people really thought his death was some kind of cover up? It was clear that it was possibly either from bad health from drug and alcohol abuse or that he unfortunately relapsed.

Everything is a conspiracy to some people.

Mte, the prevailing theme of his memoir was “holy shit my addiction has fucked my body up something shocking”, that even when the immediate theory regarding his passing was solely a cardiac event, I was not surprised. I honestly think he helped more people than he would have ever known by being SO blunt and graphic about just what state his body was in and how he had to navigate caring for himself after everything. I feel like a lot of addiction stories gloss over what lasting internal damage can be done.

Exactly! I don’t think he was even under the impression that he was going to live until he was 100. He knew that he had kinda gone beyond repair. I was surprised at how candid he was about addiction and the lasting effects. I feel like celebs are usually like “I’m sober now and extremely healthy” when that’s not actually the case.
