produced by the obamas. i read the movie wiki and it's sensationalist garbage.

do you mean the part about leaflets in arabic? because the wiki is poorly written and leaves out a lot. it's also revealed in the movie that leaflets in chinese or koren are released in another part of america and mahershala ali's character explains this is part of a plan to spread disinformation to destabilize the country. it's never explained who is behind everything. this is why you shouldn't base your opinion of a movie off of its wikipedia page.

it was a book first tho, do you think barack held a gun to the author's head to put out something that would benefit them? lmao

Propaganda for what? Physical media like DVDs?

Yeah I just read the wiki and it sounds dumb as hell but I don't see how it's propaganda

It’s too dumb and vague to be propaganda

Like everything Obama, it stops short of fulfilling the expectations you had for it

I mean, lowkey? There's some light islamphobia, but it's also explained away as a bigger, vaguer power. I also don't trust the Obamas so

It’s a better version of Cabin in the Woods so the only real propaganda is yet another film that should’ve released in cinemas but Netflix put it straight to streaming

How is it better than Knock at the Cabin? Besides LTWB having much bigger names, and much bigger budget, and having better cinematography, it fails as a movie for me. Besides, Cabin has twice as high audience score on Rotten.
