I'm sure some people LOVE their jobs and are passionate about what they do - including many in the entertainment industry, people who are creative and passionate about bringing their ideas to life and are happy they get to be paid to tell stories and stuff like that. Many people go into their lines of work because they enjoy the roots of it! I enjoyed the hell out of college and grad school learning about things I was passionate about, but lbr, not many people take that same enthusiam far into their careers, especially people like me who had a slight career curve into a somewhat unrelated field from my degrees (albeit I do use skills and knowledge from them, but I studied international relations and political science and now I am a proposal writer and project developer/manager).
I am a professional writer, I have (self) published a novel (tbh me and my cowriter just wrote it to cash in on the romance craze post-50 Shades and I got enough to buy a new laptop which was my goal all along), but man, I am NOT passionate about what I write for my living right now. I do it because it keeps my mortgage paid. Most of my jobs have been for that sole purpose. If I could write stuff I was passionate about and get paid for it, I would in a heartbeat, but alas, my passionate writing might get me a laptop but it won't pay my mortgage for more than a few months.
