I’m watching May December now and for whatever reason there are some similarities in the music, even the opening scene in a way, that reminds me of Silence of the Lambs?? There’s even a bug element lmao. Idk the score keeps reminding me of it. For those that have watched both am I crazy? Lol

I didn't make that connection when watching, but now that you point it out I can definitely see connections and similarities there. And in a way, both are deeply unsettling movies about predators.

the score for may december is actually an adaptation/re-orchestration of that for the film the go-between (1971)

I’m about halfway through and the score keeps taking me out of it. I know it’s supposed to be saying something but it’s all feeling very 90s Lifetime movie / soap opera…which I think is maybe intentional given the subject matter but as someone who was constantly forced to watch those things as a child, I am triggered.
