i didn't know jungkook had a full sleeve. isn't tattooing illegal in korea? and it's taboo to have them? do a lot of k-pop celebrities have tattoos now?

it's not really that taboo anymore a lot of idols have tattoos now, male and female tbh.

He’s honestly part of what has helped break that taboo for idols, sure lots of them had tattoos before him but definitely not a full sleeve. Back in 2019 when he started it he basically was always covered or they blurred it out but over the years his company has stopped covering it and just fully leaned into it, even photoshoots focused on the designs.

Yeah he still covers them for broadcasts that are televised on like their version of main network channels but he doesn't cover them any more for their own self produced content or variety shows which is what people consume the most.

tattooing isn't illegal but its considered a medical procedure so its supposed to only be done by people with a medical license. but there are thousands of tattoo parlors all over korea, and tattoo artists are occasionally fined, but its kind of just unenforced for the most part.
