Don’t they buy these? It’s not even a nomination, they just say “I want one” and it has to get approved? Not saying he doesn’t deserve but makes sense why people like Seacrest got them so early.

Anyone, including a fan, can nominate a celebrity as long as the celebrity or his/her management is in agreement with the nomination. If there is no letter of agreement included from the celebrity or his/her representative, the committee will not accept the application.

That's what i've heard too. I think i remember there being a post about Ryan Reynolds getting one and bringing Blake and the kids and ONTDers suspecting he was trying to get good publicity as award show bait.

That was the first time i heard celebs have to pay for their stars.

you pay a fee and have to get a certain number of signatures on a petition to get one. it's mostly used for PR for something the recipient has going on or to mark a milestone in their career
