The big DWTS gossip of the week is that freshly eliminated Harry and Rylee spent Thanksgiving with her family in Los Angeles. In a TikTok video, she showed a Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet that he gave her (someone said this bracelet cost $14,500).

Unpopular opinion: I don't think Charity deserved a 10 this week (or to be in second place this week). She isn't a bad dancer but she hasn't improved all season. She is the classic female celeb who is coordinated enough to learn choreography competently but never improves beyond that to become a polished dancer. Her feet are lazy (not pointed, not precise when doing a lot of steps), her arms are weak or messy instead of strong, etc. She's not a bad dancer (ahem, Harry) but she still isn't a great dancer either. But I know we're at the point in the season where the judges just start throwing 9s and 10s at everyone so I was resigned to her scores.
I also thought Ariana's jive was a bit weak. She needed more bounce and energy, as well as some precision.
But if Alyson is getting 8s and 9s, obviously the other dancers need 9s and 10s so I get it in theory (the obvious answer is that Alyson shouldn't be getting 9s or even 8s).

It's really a shame because during week 1, I thought she was coordinated enough to have potential to improve. But she has remained at the same level all season, which was disappointing. I agree about Artem not always focusing on the details. I know they have a lot of material to cover in a short amount of time, but I really wish he would have pushed her to focus on things like her feet and arms because that could have made a huge difference in her presentation. She clearly has the capacity to learn so I don't think it's asking too much to teach her how to push through her feet and point her toes or pay attention to her hands and elbows.

She seems like the dance equivalent of a choir kid who never gets a solo. Like if you put her in a large group doing the same choreography, she would learn the steps and never draw attention to herself for making mistakes, but she would also never stand out.

On strictly I don't think her jive would have got higher than a 6

IA about Charity. She dances like a cheerleader. I know she was one, and I was too, and can safely say cheerleaders are so used to hitting solid lines and locking steps that it leaves most of the dances lacking in rhythm and romance. Like she never sways the way Xochitl and Ariana can. She's good but she's been the same dancer since the beginning.
Anyway Xochitl is my fave.

I didn't know she was a cheerleader (I never watch the rehearsal packages or interviews), so I thought she was one of those girls who had maybe taken some dance classes as a kid or maybe did yoga as an adult, meaning coordinated enough to follow along if you show her a sequence of steps, but not a performer.
