It was announced today that the 7th season of your parents’ favorite show, Young Sheldon, will be its last.
“As a prequel to one of the biggest comedies, Young Sheldon proved lightning can strike twice,” said CBS entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in a statement Tuesday. “It set itself apart with a remarkable cast that felt like a family from the first moment we saw them on screen and brought characters to life with unique heartfelt stories that drew audiences in from the start.” No word yet on how our grampies are taking the news.
It’s not all cause for celebration though, as perennial nuisance and creator of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song Chuck Lorre and Warner Bros. are readying a second Big Bang spinoff for streaming service Max - though Lorre recently said that development is still in the “prenatal” stage.
The Big Bang Theory prequel will begin its 7th and final season Feb. 15 and conclude with a one-hour series finale on May 16.
