lol i just came to see if this was posted because wow, studios are so afraid to admit that musicals are musicals in their advertising lately. i swear the same thing is happening with the color purple and all the trailers calling it a "bold new take" like this one is. the color purple at least has snippets of songs in its trailers, but with this one you might have 0 idea it's a musical going in.

I legit had NO idea it was a musical until I read the comments here. I thought the new twist they were referring to was slightly more diverse casting, and was confused as to why that was being considered some kind of novel twist lol.

I didn’t realize Tangled was a musical until I was in the theater bc the only ads I saw for it used a P!nk song lmao. I actually only went bc my dad wanted to see it, he was upset it was a musical but I was thrilled.

Movie musicals generally don't do well at the Box Office these days. I guess they're hoping to trick people into getting tickets & not demanding a refund when people break out into song.

I had absolutely no idea the color purple is a musical?? this is blowing my mind.
They're doing the same with Wonka, which I assume has singing?? but you'd never know from the trailer.
