I know the movie will never live up to the book so I didn't even watch the trailer. Seems like my hunch was correct.

honestly! it took the author 10 years to write it, I feel like there is no way to live up to it.

In a similar vein, have you read the Nightingale by Kristin Hannah? I read them around the same time and thought hers was excellent too.

I haven't read many newer books on WWII, after reading Eli Wiesel's books I sort of needed a time out :|
