Yes! I know I’m overly analytical but when criminal couples say “we’re like Bonnie and Clyde” I always think you know how that ended right?

I can't remember who it was but someone famous dressed up as the Handmaid's Tale and I was really confused why they thought a show about systematic rape was just a quirky costume idea.

i get the sid and nancy thing more than the whitney bobby thing because well there was a movie so they’ve become “characters” in the cultural imagination (although i still find it tacky given that they are in fact also real people) and i don’t expect that people’s halloween costumes are their couples goals or whatever. but dressing up as just a real life example of an abusive relationship… breaks my brain a bit ngl
