Writers Emily Gould, 41, and Keith Gessen, 48, are no longer divorcing. Last October, Emily posted in her newsletter asking for $20,000 in donations to pay for her impending divorce. Turns out, it was all for naught. After "a lot of couples counseling," the couple that was calling it quits is calling their divorce quits. Gould says that she has returned the money to her donors.
Gessen and Gould met while Gould was a writer for Gawker. Their public romance was fodder to the internet literati at the time. Gessen recently published a book about raising their first son. He and Gould both wrote about how they squandered $100,000 and $300,000 publishing advances.
