I don't love his comments but... come on, he actually real life knows these people. He was living with Justin basically 24/7 at the time. Dude doesn't need to have read the book to still be better qualified to speak than all of us lot who were ruling on the matter before we'd read it either lol

That doesn’t mean he knows everything that went down between them though and since he’s friends with Justin, he’s going to be bias and in favour of people letting him off for everything he has done. He’s probably also heard a lot of one-sided bullshit from Justin.

I'm not suggesting he's the font of all knowledge or that I even agree with his take, it's just kinda ludicrous for anyone sitting on this site to be suggesting he needs to read the book before speaking when before he's touched the front cover he knows more than any of us do lol

I think the point is that since he doesn’t know all of the details, he shouldn’t really be talking about forgiveness. For all he knows, he’s about to read something in the book that he wasn’t aware of and thinks is terrible, so preaching about forgiveness first is daft.

Then again, he supports abusers and insults victims, so I doubt he’ll read anything he thinks is particularly terrible.
