Fuck whoever decided for this season to have fewer episodes. The pacing is going ridiculously fast that there’s never enough time to flesh out character development and plots in a natural way.

And honestly I’m tired of seeing the popular tv trope of when a couple gets together there’s drama shortly after because apparently it makes the relationship more “exciting” to watch. Wrong. It happens so often in tv at this point it’s contrived and unoriginal. I rarely see couples on television get together and stay together and are in a loving and healthy relationship forever after. I’m not saying there can never be any conflict/disagreements in said relationships, all I’m saying is that I’m tired of seeing it done the same way (but to also add there could be drama in relationships, I’m all for that, I just don’t see it ever handled in a mature way very often. I think in this case the shorter season has made this trope worse for me to watch, cause it looks like they’re gonna get back together again in the next episode anyway so what was the ( ... )

Yeah, and the pacing is not helping that trope - they seem to be going back and forth every episode which is giving me whiplash. I'm still having a wonderful time, but the pacing is just bonkers.

I think it’s clear by now that having shorter episodes has really hurt this season (and its characters).

I’m hoping that since HBO put a lot more money into promoting this season (compared to how they treated this show for its first season is literally a complete 180 by how they’re treating it this year) they now recognize that the show is popular and will put more money back into the budget….. I’m not really gonna hold my breath though.

At least this season got rid of the wacky mysterious teleportation they seemed to be doing between locations LMAO - somehow people got from one side of the Caribbean to the other in like half a day.

I wonder what the budget was for this season compared to last. I thought people were acting like the budget was cut by moving from LA to NZ, but it seemed the same quality it felt to me (if not some actual better sets). But I didn't even realize the episode order decreased until last week when I was trying to figure out how they fit 10 episodes into this season when I realized they didn't.

So many of my shows are going to 8 episodes this season - Syfy cut the order of Resident Alien from 16 in season 2 to 12 for season 3 and then suddenly cut it to 8 after that. I mean, 16 was too many (not ever side character needed their own episode), but 12 was fine!

I think I heard one of the crew members in one of the BTS videos mention how “expensive” it was to shoot in LA so they had to move production to NZ, so there must have been a decrease in the budget.

I haven’t really noticed a drastic change in set quality either… except maybe the lack of extravagant wardrobes of everyone, especially Stede, but maybe that’s a writers choice? who knows. And of course the amount of episodes. Again I’m not holding my breath but surely HBO must have now realized how popular this show is, right?? Surely 🧐

HBO is also missing a huge opportunity on merchandise. Good Omens lets you click a link while watching the show to go directly to the official merch store with tons of options. Meanwhile i bought my robe after season 1 on Etsy.

But I guess they must have had a budget cut even if the episode order wasn't a dead indicator of that. But NZ really does not look like the Caribbean lmao.

It amazes me how AMAZON promotes their shows (and actors) better than HBO most of the time lol

I wonder how much Amazon made off Good Omens merch alone. And i didn't buy anything I'm a terrible fan.

It just makes me wonder if I am gonna end up liking Good Omens season 2 more than OFMD season 2 which would be the opposite from their first seasons. Good Omens season 2 just HIT for me.

I couldn’t finish the first season of GO, but after seeing them kiss in s2 (and after finding out the show’s not gonna queerbait) I got an interest in trying the show again. The same thing got me into watching OFMD after seeing the Ed/Stede kiss on tumblr lol

I started watching OFMD after going onto Wikipedia to look it up and read the first line calling it a pirate romcom and went, "ok let's go" lmao i didn't even know what the rom was gonna be haha. And that was about a month after the end of season 1.

Good Omens season 2 was def fan service but hey i loved it! Need to rewatch. Except for the Maggie Nina storyline that was very forced.
