I believe that she quantum leaped into the body of our Paula Abdul and our Paula Abdul died in the actual fire. Think about it. People talk about how they remember the Bearstein Bears instead of Bearstain Bears. I remember times when I almost died but didn't. what i think happened after a lot of deep diving is that "i hate flying" was her cutesy story for talk shows, which then turned into her explaining that she is afraid of flying due to scary incidents in the past, which turned into making up this whole story over time

tbh she probably had like an emergency landing or a turbulent flight and over time went with the dramatic story.

not defending her but it seems like it grew over time and she just pushed the narrative instead of correcting it.
