• SNL alum Pete Davidson returns to Studio 8H tonight, two seasons after leaving the show. He was originally supposed to host in May (w/musical guest Lil Uzi Vert) but was cancelled due to the writers strike.
• This will be Ice Spice's first appearance on SNL, though "Boy's a Liar Pt. 2" was featured in the April 1, 2023 cold open, and she herself was namedropped by James Austin Johnson's Trump in that same cold open.
• Pete joined the cast of SNL in season 40, debuting in the September 27, 2014 season premiere hosted by Chris Pratt with musical guest Ariana Grande. Bill Hader recommended Davidson to Lorne Michaels after working with him for about an hour on the set of the Amy Schumer/Judd Apatow movie Trainwreck (Pete claims he was really only on set for about 12 minutes because his scene was so short). He was only 20 when he started on the show, making him one of the youngest cast members in the show's history and was the first cast member to be born in the '90s. He made a splash in his first episode by appearing as himself on Weekend Update, which would go on to be a signature segment for him in his time on the show.
• Cast members James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman are expected to be promoted to repertoire players this season after spending the required two seasons as featured players. Comedian Chloe Troast will make her debut tonight as the only new season 49 hire.
Click to view• Pete made a stop on Jimmy Fallon to promote his hosting gig. In the interview he does the Lorne Michaels impression every SNL cast member is legally required to have and describes getting the news that he was getting another chance to host the show. Pete and Jimmy also bond over their moms wanting them to take the sanitation workers exam and the postal worker exam respectively, just in case their comedy careers didn't work out.
• Chloe Fineman also stopped by Fallon, did some impressions and played charades with Jimmy and Leslie Odom Jr.
• Bowen Yang appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers being his usual charming self. He described the scenes back at the SNL office once everyone got back to their offices, taking his podcast on a European tour, and teased a possible appearance from Seth on Las Culturistas. He also got the chance to promote A24s Dicks: The Musical
• Marcello Hernandez got a spot on Seth's show too. The second year featured player appeared in a tux and gave Seth a corsage to celebrate his first talk show appearance. He talks about how his mom inspired his sketch with Pedro Pascal and is generally very charming.

• The first trailer for Please Don't Destroy's movie was released. The film stars the three SNL writers alongside cast members Bowen Yang and Michael Longfellow, and general legend Conan O'Brien. The movie premieres on Peacock next month.
