October 12, 2023 The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Teresa Giudice, 51, is doubling down on her family’s collaboration with Shein.
Giudice issued a public response after she and her daughters Gia, 22, Milania, 17, and Audriana, 14, were criticized for partnering with the fast fashion brand Shein for a new collection.
A representative for Giudice said she had done her “due diligence” to ensure that Shein was a company they wanted to do business with. In the past, the company has faced backlash for allegedly stealing designs from independent designers and for poor working conditions.
"The SHEINxGiudiceGirls collection follows a long list of celebrities and public figures to partner with the brand. We acknowledge the concerns expressed about our partnership and met with the SHEIN team prior to working together,” a representative for Giudice told TMZ. “We 100% believe in ethical practices in all capacities and in doing our due diligence have not seen any substantive evidence definitively showing unethical practices."
"This size-inclusive collection was made to amplify the voices and creativity of young women and to encourage entrepreneurship at any age. The responses thus far have been overwhelmingly positive and uplifting," their rep added.
A Shein spokesperson said that the brand is "excited" about its collaboration with the Giudice family. But, the company is aware of the "concerns raised by consumers" and is "deeply committed to be as open and transparent as possible."
"SHEIN is dedicated to operating in a responsible and ethical manner and take any claims of unethical business practices seriously. We hope our fans enjoy this collaboration and the diversity in both design and sizing intended to deliver value for all this holiday season," they added.
