This is the biggest thing for me. It's okay if you don't know how to pronounce someone's name. All you have to do is ask.
Good for you for correcting everyone. It's not really asking a lot to have people use your actual name!
I have a name that is easy to pronounce but every once in a while, I run across someone who insists on using the wrong vowel sound. My first name is also very similar to a more common name so I sometimes get called by the other name, especially in work emails with people who are not coworkers, despite the fact that my name is in my signature. When I was younger, I was more reluctant to correct people. Now IDGAF.
And there are names that are pronounced differently in different languages. My sister's friend was named Genevieve and she used the French pronunciation. Years later, I had to meet with someone named Genevieve and we handled everything via email until our first face to face meeting. When she showed up, I pronounced her name the French way because that's what I was used to. She told me that she pronounced her name the American way and I was like oops, sorry! I made a note of it and it never happened again.
