* [Sensitive Content]Shepard was discovered, comatose and tied to a split rail fence, 18 hours later by a cyclist who mistook him for a scarecrow. It was reported that his face was covered in blood, save for where it had been partially cleansed by his own tears. Shepard would never regain consciousness, and was pronounced dead in the early hours of October 12, 1998 after being taken off life support. (via Wiki)
