I feel like it's on the director. They made a lot of changes that didn't really serve the story and it felt like the director didn't really love the books.

David Yates was the absolute worst thing to happen to the franchise. Chris Columbus gets flack for his movies, but I think even he was better than Yates. Lol

you are right and anything else is a flop opinion by people who prpb think alfonso cuaron did a good job. I dont understand what there is to hate about chris, is it the way he accurately adapted the books scene for scene or what lmao

Yates is the reason the later movies were literally too dark. I get the story itself got more mature and darker, but would it have killed them to add some brightness and color? Still mad about this lol
