- Kerry's parents kept the secret that her father, Earl Washington, was not her biological father until 2018 when she told them she was appearing on Finding Your Roots
- Her parents actually reached out to the host, Henry Louis Gates Jr., (I assume to try to hide it) who encouraged them to finally tell Kerry
- Her parents had fertility issues when trying to concieve and she was born with the help of an anonymous sperm donor
- She believes a part of her always knew something was off and it led to issues with anxiety and anorexia
- Her parents were uncomfortable with her publicly talking about it but ultimately support her
- They are all in a good place now and she feels the honesty brought them closer together
This is funny to me because I always thought she looked so much like a perfect blend of both her parents, and mostly her dad tbh. I'm glad she's in a good place about it.
