In a recent interview, McConaughey (promoting his children's picture book) was shown a video message from the former Maury host, offering to "come out of retirement" to give a DNA test to McConaughey and Harrelson.
McConaughey basically politely said no to the show, but not necessarily to doing a test, having revealed earlier this year he has questioned whether the two are actually half-brothers based on family conversations about how his mother "knew" Harrelson's father.
McConaughey thinks Harrelson would be more enthusiastic about the idea than him because he has less to lose.
“It’s a little harder for me because he’s asking me to take a chance to go, ‘Wait a minute, you’re trying to tell me my dad may not be my dad after 53 years of believing that?’ McConaughey explained. “I got a little more skin in the game.”
