the studios aren't desperate enough to give the WGA a good faith offer for a deal. the last update from the end of august was full of a bunch of bullshit, like asking the WGA to agree to doctoring up Chat GPT generated scripts so they would be "original" enough to be registered as copyrighted material

I don’t expect the studios to make a serious offer but I think things will thaw a bit. I *think* Newsom is going to sign the unemployment bill soon too
