so many young people dying unexpectedly. irish from 702 also died yesterday also at 43 years old. people saying it's covid-related, not specificially, but as a general trend it might be.

It could be covid, but it seems like cancer is killing people in their 40's now and it's still a bit shocking to hear about it because we don't associate cancer with that age bracket. I know I did not expect to be in the late 30's and get cancer.

I keep hearing health in general is on a down trend, covid likely just adds to that. sorry to hear about that, hope you are on the up and up!

Yeah. I'm sure it doesn't help that for the covid lockdown years it was difficult to see doctors. As awesome as Telehealth, is it can be a downfall. Because there are somethings that your doctor needs to see you in person for. I was lucky to have a high survival type of cancer and a amazing surgeon. You can't even see my scar. It's been 4 years and I cancer free.

I've been hearing that colon cancer is really on the rise for younger people. Feels like so many things we didn't have to worry about at our ages are now real concerns.

I got a YouTube recommendation today out of nowhere about a guy annoucing his 27 year old wife had died of colon cancer. Cancer rates in younger people, especially colon cancer, are up so much and it's so scary.

yes unfortunately the excess deaths globally are still very high, and it looks to be caused potentially by covid as getting infected with covid is related to an increase in strokes, heart attackes, and other vascular problems. The scary part is that the risk comes after the acute infection and can last for up to a year after an infection.

exactly not to mention we really don't know the long term effects of having had covid or of new variants. scary times

sick of these fear montering fucking comments every time someone dies. stop it, we don’t even know how or why this young man died. everyone acting like people didn’t die unexpectedly before COVID is infuriating.

I mean a lot of young people seem to be dying lately people are always gonna speculate. there is scientific evidence to the whole covid thing so is it really fearmongering? we're all on the same boat of not knowing how these things could affect our lives long term. could be microplastics, who knows, but this reaction seems kinda kneejerk tbh maybe you do see that a lot.

Maybe you’re just noticing more deaths.l? Americans in particular are generally very unhealthy and living with comorbidities. And your likelihood of dying of Covid/covid-related illness is increased anyway by having comorbidities, particularly obesity and diabetes which is an all time high in the US. Also, theres been a rising trend in younger deaths even before COVID- plenty of reasons for why that is.

Point being, it’s weird to theorize about this. Speculating about his death when his family hasn’t released a statement seems unnecessary and then linking it to Covid just sounds like conspiracy theorizing - it’s the same as people saying someone’s death must be related to getting the vaccine at this point.

Yes there’s a lot we don’t know but it’s just inappropriate and yes comes off as fear mongering.
