Spears and Federline share sons Sean, 17, and Jayden, 16, who now live with Federline in Hawaii.
Federline is hoping to work out a new child support agreement with Britney that would increase the monthly payments, and he's hoping they can work this out without having to go to court.
Federline's lawyer:
"The original child support agreement between Kevin and Britney did not allocate how much money was allotted for either child. Kevin is going to need to have the amount re-calculated because instead of having Jayden for 50 percent of the time, he has Jayden 100 percent of the time. This would result in an increase because of the increase in expenses. We are going to try to work this out with Britney's attorneys, but if not, we will have to go through the judicial process."
Spears had previously been paying $20,000 per month in child support.
Later, Federline asked an increase in child support payments, Spears paid him some $40,000 per month in child support.
