Same. Many of my friends were raving about the book, but while it was a fun read, I wasn't as enamoured with it. The conceptualization of the British monarchy and American politics are completely ridiculous, but the movie is so charming! By focusing the movie storyline solely on Alex and Henry, it makes the overall arc stronger. Also, they clearly just cast the right people too.

Same. I still had it on as background noise, but I didn't cringe as much as I expected to lol. The acting was actually decent from these two who I had no expectations of.
