With my ex, I would always see him being a nice and kind person with everyone else, but constantly disrespecting me and never willing to put me first. I told him more than once that I didn't like the way he was treating me, and he always said that he would try to do better than never did. I knew I was being stupid, but I remembered the person who had been my friend and thought he still existed, but really, everything changed as soon as sex was added to our relationship. Even my dad contributes so much less to their relationship than my mom does. She raised my brother and I, did everything around the house, and did the books for his business.
