August 31, 2023 Kevin Costner and his estranged wife Christine are in court for a child-support hearing.
Christine's attorney said they were reducing that request amount to $161,592 per month.
The new amount remains higher than Costner's proposal of $60,000 per month.
• Christine's attorney said that living a luxurious life is “in their DNA at this point,” referring to the kids, and listed all the sports they are involved in and houses the family owns.
Christine choked up while telling the court, “It’s so much more than this, it’s an experience. We’ve created quite a community. We create whatever we can dream up in here. The children are very connected to the ocean, it’s their home,”
• Christine's attorney stated that financier Josh Connor is merely a friend of Christine and "nothing more than that." Christine's brother gave her $80,000 to support her amid the divorce this summer. Connor lent Christine $20,000 this summer when she appeared to be in "distress."
• Christine stated that, during the marriage, Costner gave her mother $5,000 monthly, which she said her mother is no longer receiving. Christine gave $10,000 of the loan to her mom before returning the rest of the money back to Connor.
• Costner stated that Christine already leased a full acre, four-bedroom house in nearby Montecito that's only "4 minutes from the beach (5 minutes by bicycle)." Christine's Montecito house, a six-month lease for $40,000, also has a larger pool than the one at his beach club estate.
