2023 continues to be a good year for Amber Heard! She's living her best life and that means finally being free of all legal troubles brought on by the walking corpse of stale cigarette that is her ex. As once again, all charges related to an incident in 2015, of trying to "smuggle" her two Yorkies, Boo and Pistol, into Australia have been dropped.

Omg I forgot about even mentioning that, it never fucking ends for her! I know that it's a hot mess, but i've not been super vocal about how disparaging it is on my socials because I'm beyond burnt out irl.

I am worried it's going to fuel another wave of hate and put her in danger again. But, i'm glad she has this win right now.

I read an interview where the director where she was like "I didn't want to talk to experts, I wanted to portray it the way we were experiencing just watching it" and like... fuck off.

Is it just me or is this part of Netflix's docs becoming shittier and shittier? I feel like they'll just throw so many half assed things together now.

I saw that too! I think Netflix's docs are for sure becoming worse, which is just bi-product of the anti-intellectual movement. I'm still mad about them giving a platform to the bullshit that was Graham Hancock Ancient Apocalypse.

They've been shitty for so long now I don't even remember when they ever produced anything good tbh... also the lines between docs and reality TV are continually being blurred that some day they're just gonna become synonymous, which is really such a shame

I was thinking of Making a Murderer which won tons of awards and helped make Netflix seem more prestigious.

That was 8 years ago!!!

Even something like Tiger King at least seemed researched and interesting.

So many times now I watch a Netflix doc and it's on something that hasn't gone to trial and feels unfinished like they rushed it to make a summary instead of actually letting the filmmakers work the story.

Not just you but wanted to say: that’s documentaries IN GENERAL. None of them are completely factual.

I’m still remembering Supersize Me.

"I didn't want to talk to experts, I wanted to portray it the way we were experiencing just watching it"

This is so absolutely anti the point of good documentary making that I am screaming

edit: made me so mad I even forgot to write the fairly crucial word "anti" there

I’ve actually seen some people say they watched the documentary and it changed their mind to supporting her, it give me a little bit of hope back

That documentary actually made a lot of people change their mind. I was expecting it to be a shit show, and maybe it is.. idk, I have no intention of watching it. But it brought the conversation back and I’m hearing a lot of “wow I didn’t realise how staged it was, how it was set for her to fail” like a lot of things we knew because we kept close tabs, but the GP didn’t care about. So it’s actually more positive than I thought.

I've been seeing that some Debt fans are made about this documentary, and I saw an Amber Heard fan account promoting it because it showed Amber in a better light than her ex.

I haven't watched it but I'm surprised by that reaction, especially by what the filmmaker said.
