Sufjan Stevens Releases New Song, Announces New Album

He also announced an upcoming album, Javelin, with a release date of October 6th. The album will feature contributions from Adrienne Maree Brown, Hannah Cohen, Pauline Delassus, Megan Lui, Nedelle Torrisi, and the National’s Bryce Dessner. A book of photos and essays will be released alongside the album.
Though Sufjan has released a lot of new music over the past few years, like a ballet score, an instrumental album, and a collaboration with Angelo De Augustine, this is a return to his more traditional singer-songwriter albums like Carrie and Lowell.
