I get what he's trying to say, but I feel a little weird about him assuming Harry is straight. I know queerbaiting is an issue, and Harry's motives are said to be questionable, but if we take him at his word he wouldn't define himself as straight.

It just makes me think of how Kit Connor was treated. Always assuming people are straight and queerbaiting rather than taking steps to figure themselves out. Idk I hope that makes sense.

yeah, i perfer to stay out of those discussions re: harry and his sexuality lol on one hand i completely understand that he is performative and puts out an image that really benefits him (look at all this $$ hes making) but at the same time, im not here to question whether someone is non straight (i will say as someone who followed harry since day one thre were always rumors and convos about harry being bisexual) based off their actions. perhaps harry should act more ~straight~ to see less performative? lmao im kidding but its strange to me imo. i do agree w/ ontd that he needs to lift up more voices in the lbgt community since he takes much inspiration from them, and not stay so quiet when advocacy calls

Gay/bi rumors don't mean anything misogynistic, womanizing rappers even have gay/bi rumors.

yes what you said did make sense. i agree that as a society the "default" sexuality seems to be straight and it's always extra weird when seeing someone else in the lgbtqia community doing the heteronormative/default straight assumptions cause it's like lol... shouldn't we of all people not being doing that? I don't remember if harry has ever clarified what his sexuality or iirc he said he doesn't like labels?? maybe i made that up?...

No, you're right. He said in a magazine interview that he chose not to label himself and people responded by saying he was queerbaiting.

You can be straight and unlabeled.

But who are we to assume when he's never said he was straight? He even has song lyrics about messing around with men and women.

I'm an out gay man living in a heteronormative world I can assume as I please. You're showing more grace to this STRAIGHT man with a gucci contract than an out GAY man.

I have given grace to Billy. He's been known to say offhand things and we let it slide. Like I stated in a comment under this, I get what he's trying to say but he could've said it without the offhand comment to nb people and calling a woman a bitch. The point gets lost.

You’re talking about a man who you’re assuming is straight and refuses to label himself.

The hetronomitiviry is coming from within the house.

It definitely makes sense to me. Harry said himself that he chose not to put a label in his sexuality and people came for him about that. I think people dislike him for other reasons so they refuse to believe he's anything other than a straight man queerbaiting for attention. I mean, feel free to hate him all you want, but assuming his sexuality when he never labeled himself is wrong in my opinion. No one should be forced into it. Let them tell us in their own time. If they choose to never do it, that's okay as well.

I do get what Billy is trying to say, but he could've easily gotten his point across without being offensive to a woman and nonbinary people.
