Riley Keough, Vanity Fair's September cover star, reflects on pivotal moments in her life and career. From her first runway show when she was 14 years old to honoring her late grandfather Elvis Presley at the hand ceremony alongside mother Lisa Marie Presley and grandmother Priscilla Presley, the actress gives her reframed perspective on how the moments defined her.
Her stories include:
• Riley and Zoe Kravitz have been friends since toddler age because their parents were friends. They were breastfed next to each other and "hung out as nepo babies, literally."
• Filming Mad Max: Fury Road was an important part of her life- she met some of her closest friends and her future husband, who was a stuntman on the film. She 'catfished' him by saying she wanted to learn how to surf and loved the beach when she didn't because she wanted to get close to him.
• She almost caused an incident on the set of Under the Silver Lake by eating a granola bar with peanuts before shooting a kissing scene with Andrew Garfield. Garfield is severely allergic and thankfully a crew member caught it and the set was shut down for a bit.
• Riley calls "Daisy Jones and the Six" very dear to her heart.
