I just don't understand this. I mean glad it wasn't somebody throwing stuff at him, but...

For one, whenever I hear about them I think about the one that started a wildfire, caused millions in damages and killed somebody.

But also, what if you're wrong? Years down the line your kid realizes they are trans and yet you did all that. Idk. It's oddly discomforting.

idk I feel the venn diagram of people who engage in peak heterosexuality enough to have a gender reveal wouldn't care if their kid was trans and would ignore their wishes.

I get this, but at the same time how many people have a baby of either sex and raise that child in a gender neutral environment? Even the most progressive folks will just go with whatever the sex until (if ever) their child tells them they feel different. So, I don’t think it’s the worst thing to get excited about revealing the sex; it’s just a fun part of having a baby.

But, I do have a major issue with these recorded reveals where the men are falling apart when it’s revealed that the baby is female. Way to look like a complete piece of shit on video so your child can watch it years down the line and feel inadequate/unwanted. And then the ones who do updates and are like “he’s THE BEST #GIRLDAD to little Keynnailegh, ignore the old video!” Naw.

tbh i think gender/sex reveals are really dumb in general but if your kid is trans there's no way the gender reveal is going to be more significant than the countless other times their assigned at birth gender is mentioned up until they identify otherwise

actually "you guys wanna watch ed sheeran misgender me in front of 10k people?" would potentially be a funny tiktok for a future gen alpha teen to make, if only because it's funny to picture ed sheeran being known in 2040

Actually the woman who did a gender reveal, her kid later turned out to be trans. And she said that she regrets starting the trend and she never meant for it to become such a big thing.
