Unless she's someone who never takes her ring off, it's a pointless thing to go off of. It feels so antiquated but I still see this kind of speculation a lot when anyone who is married isn't wearing one. I mean, I would not be surprised if they split I just hate the ring thing.

Everytime I see a story like this I'm reminded of when I joined my in-laws last minute for an outing because my sport was canceled due to weather, so I had been dressed/prepared to play which meant no jewelry. My husband received a phone call later from his brother (on behalf of their mom) asking if we were OK, because it was noticed I wasn't wearing my ring so clearly that was a sign we were having issues.

Anyway I'm no contact with my MIL now.

I pray for the day when I can truly be no-contact with my in laws. You are my shining light

It's definitely an older generation thing. I am engaged and sometimes either forget my ring when I'm rushed and I take it off to sleep, to shower, to do dishes, etc. I don't really wear it when I'm just chilling at home in my jammies. All my older friends and relatives are HORRIFIED. One straight up told me that it is "a part of your body now" and it never leaves your finger. She keeps it on for EVERYTHING, sleeping, showering, hiking or going to the beach, etc. It's just weird to me, but some people do feel that way.
Natalie might feel that way too, but I don't know either way, lol.

Well that's creepy.

My conservative boomer parents never wear their wedding rings so I don't think anything of it when couples don't.

Yep I definitely know multiple older women who have been wearing their rings for so long that they can no longer even get them off. one of my mom’s friends had to go to a doctor to get hers removed, the last resort would’ve been amputation because it was cutting off her blood supply 😬

My mum wore hers gardening and got stung on her finger by a wasp or an ant and it swelled up. Doctor (for some reason) wound the ring off her finger with a paper clip. Her finger was cut up pretty bad by it, but it healed and she kept her finger. I think they did it that way because it was urgent and they didn’t have a ring cutter (we were at a primary care office and not ER). My sister had to leave the room because she was about to faint. I had to stay with my mum and help her through it. TRAUMATISING.

I mean I don't feel its a part of my body but at the same time I'd feel bad if I DID wear it & happened to lose it. Since I did do that before at a wedding.

You'd think with it being relatives & family friends someone would alert the staff if they found it. Unless it was staff. 🤷

It’s hilarious because unless taking off the ring causes your marriage license to burst into flames, GUESS WHAT.

Agreed. I never take mine off, but I have about 3 other rings I wear and never take off, mostly due to laziness. My husband wears his when he isn't at home. What's funny is my father in law lost his wedding ring a good 35 years ago, and never replaced it, so he doesn't wear one.

I get it, but a celeb like Natalie has a whole team to manage her public image. If she's not wearing her ring at an event, it's more than likely not an accident.

yea at first I was thinking maybe it was a pap shot of her running errands, but to show up to an event on the heels of your husband's cheating scandal not wearing your ring, i suspect it's soft launching a breakup.

And according to the source it's their 11th wedding anniversary. Husband free and ring free - intentional

We never wear our rings. My husband can’t for his job and we both never did to just sit around the house, and I’m always home these days. I never wear other jewelry either. 🤷🏼‍♀️
