August 2, 2023 Catherine Tyldesley, who starred in the UK soap Coronation Street from 2011-2018, had an events agency, NVRLND, ask a small business (Three Birds Bakery) for free cakes. In return, she'd 'provide exposure to 700k followers and mention them in OK Magazine'.
The bakery was obviously not happy, so went public with the email they received and their response, stating that 'exposure wouldn't pay their mortgage or for their employees to feed their kids.'
Catherine then claimed she had 'no idea the emails were being sent' and was annoyed that 'journalists were showing up at her door', but she 'hopes the company got the exposure they were looking for'.
