And? Its just a bunch of words, my personal wellness journey (toward looking hot and desirable so I can keep my job) it doesnt fit. It never fits.

Preach it sis. It’s not a wellness journey this is the pressures and expectations as an actress to always look good. Yea she chose it but at least be more loud with the ITS MY JOB and I have help! Part.

Before people misunderstand me again: I know she said it was for her job. But that part needs to be more blatant from everyone in the industry. If you’re gonna prop up an unrealistic beauty standard; make it clear how much effort time and money that goes into it. Not knocking keke but is it a ~wellness journey~ or going back to her habits she had before she was pregnant?

im very happy with her clarification and talk of meal prep, trainers etc. i just wish people would stop using the words "wellness" and "fitness" automatically when losing weight when those are about feeling good and being healthy. that can look all kinds of ways. its a convenient way to excuse busting your ass to fit the standard. if youre truly on a wellness journey then thats great, but you can look all kinds of ways and keep all kinds of schedules, and if you eat more/workout less it doesnt mean youre unwell. its a real pet peeve for me. you put it perfectly.

Oh, you have a great point about the wellness/un wellness part of it all and being healthy or unhealthy. I’m “well” (just had a checkup!) but you know….I exist off carbs a lot bc my body doesn’t want anything else. I simply cannot wake up and decide to eat chicken, no matter how much I want to. So for me wellness is getting something in my body.

yup. My sister has a "trainer," and eats the same boring chicken and veg. I call it "sad chicken," because there's no flavor. It's just eating to hit a certain point value on her macros.

thats eactly what i mean, your body wants carbs, and it knows what it wants. ive been all over the place, from eating veggies only and starving to eating a bunch of carbs to excercising to laying in bed, and none of it automatically means health to me. right now i eat about what i want and move as much as i can, and im fine. listening to my body is the only healthy journey ive had. i got a bit of fat and a bit of muscle and it changes depending on my needs, but my mind is free of overthinking and that makes me feel more well than any time in my life. i dont think about it and im happy. those terms have defined away a normal life. obviously, if you feel unhealthy and want to work out more/eat differently and you cant thats terrible and big problem and not what im talking about.

They don't have to be mutually exclusive. She's talked pretty openly about her PCOS, researching her family's medical history and making dietary changes to avoid foods that triggered flareups. In this same podcast episode she even talks about how much she enjoys weight training because, even though she was fit before, she feels stronger now. I don't know how closely you follow her but she's been vocal about loving how pregnancy changed her body and being less self-conscious now than when she was smaller.
