Jesus is her dress the perfect skintone for her. I’ve never seen a nude blend so perfectly.
STUNNING. 🤩🥰

I was legit zooming in thinking the decor was individually pasted to her.

Even in the close up shot of picture #6, it's a flawless match. The only hint that it's a sheer overlay is the wrinkles in the material.

As someone who has loved ballet for a long time, it was always disheartening to see costumes with sheer overlay made with very light colored mesh (because the assumption was that all the dancers were yt). It's been really wonderful to see the changes that have been made in the last few years with pointe shoes, tights, and mesh finally being made and easily available so that dancers don't have to resort to hand dying everything themselves.

I remember reading a newspaper article about pointe shoes finally coming out in a range of nude shades and Lord the racists were out in the comments. What's the big deal, you're such babies complaining, just dye them... blah blah I hate black people so much I resent anybody selling them the right colour shoes blah.

I really don't understand when people get upset about something that doesn't concern or affect them at all. I'm pretty sure most of the comments came from people who aren't even dancers so it's really none of their fucking business. But even for someone who is a dancer, the new colors don't affect them. Pointe shoes and tights still come in pink so again, it does not affect you AT ALL.

Right?! Do they get mad when brands do shampoo for oily hair vs normal hair? Clothes come in short or tall? Why does the existence of something designed for somebody else that takes nothing from you burn you so much?

Exactly. They act like acknowledging the existence of people who aren't exactly like them somehow impacts them. "I should be the standard and everyone else should just make do with what works for ME!"

It's especially ridiculous because these new things don't take away from what already exists for them. It's not like the ballet world only makes 10 pairs of tights per month and now there aren't any left for you. Nothing has changed for you! You can still get the same thing that always worked for you. Why are you so upset that other people can now do the same? It's exasperating.

In figure skating too often the illusion mesh doesn’t match the skin tone. It’s depressing. Luckily some designers are better at it than others (like Starr Andrew’s in Lisa McKinnon)

She used a very specific British Designer Alonuko who is known for doing flawless skin tone matches on melanin skin!

I didn’t even mean it in a perfect skintone for someone with melanin.
Hands down. This is the best I’ve ever seen it done.
