Good for her. This post has a different tone than the Sarah Silverman one. Both are right. SAG just granted their 102nd waiver. It's defeating the purpose of the strike if the major studios are just going to have all this content to buy anyway. You're supposed to starve them out. Not the other way around!

Miss me with that "some people need jobs so it's good" nonsense too. I need my job back! That won't happen until both strikes end.

I’ve seen it happen a lot on this site so I’m not surprised. People don’t like someone so therefore anything they say or do is instantly wrong. It’s whatever to me at this point.

I read the post again and it had more comments after I commented that seemed to understand more what she was saying.

(For the record given the comment below too: I am not pro-Sarah Silverman. I am anti-SAG waivers. I agree with anyone against the waivers on that particular issue. I just want the strikes to end bc they genuinely affect me as someone who works in tv. The waivers are getting in the way of me being able to work for even longer)

Thank you for this info. I’ll be honest - I didn’t realize there were over 100 waivers granted. That changes a lot for me. There’s no way for them to release these without working with the major studios and streamers. It‘ll just drag things out.

Where should I go to read reliable strike info that’s not tied directly to AMPTP? I’m trying to avoid Twitter because it makes me sad now, but it seems like one of the better places to get direct news.

Hi. This reply took a while because I had to think about it. Honestly there's no way to get direct information from something other than the trades (Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, etc). I guess you could go to the picket lines and ask, but you'd be getting the same info. There's very few people in those rooms from the union when they're having these negotiations and they are very tight lipped about it all. [seriously....I'm like two degrees away from someone doing the negotiations and I have no idea when the strike will end. We did have a strong feeling when it was supposed to start though, but of course nothing was confirmed until it was confirmed.]

I wish I had more info for you. I'll let you guys know when my work calendar starts getting filled with studio meetings again. :)

(Wait...I just realized. What kind of info are you looking for? I just look for when it will end, but if you need something else there might be some better sources than the trades.)
