She's in full sabotage if this was just done for attention. The attention to actual missing women (especially of color) is already so bad - anyone who was going to pursue this could've pursued a real case in that time.

lol srsly though, it seems like it was to gain attention and sympathy? i really don't think that she was intending things to get as big as they did in terms of attracting national attention and uh, i do not think she thought out an end game. i think her plan didn't get much further beyond 'make people miss me and feel sorry for me'.

At least she didn't do something violent, I remember a few years ago reading about a kid who killed himself and his parents because he didn't want them to know he was failing uni.

I can think of more than one case where that has happened. 😐 I’m guessing the one you’re thinking of is the one where the guy also claimed he had gotten a job at SpaceX because that’s a more recent one. But yeah… it’s definitely something that has happened more than once which is insane.

Yeah, I took a medical leave because I was depressed so I was struggling in school so I got more depressed. I still hate myself for barely graduating and being a disappointment to my family 🙃

But I just internalized all that- I can't imagining faking an abduction to get away from it all.

We live in a world where people vote for people like matt gaetz or find kevin spacey not guilty. What kinda lies is your brain telling you that makes you think you have one damned thing to feel badly about?! Please start putting blame and shame where it belongs; on horrific people gaming the system and hurting people.
