So her friend isn't ok with her celeb friends donating to her fund but is perfectly ok with asking randos that don't know who she is????? Ooookay then...

Tbf I'd rather have a GoFundMe than to ask my friend for a large sum of money even if they're rich

That's not what I was saying, this friend is using Megan's celeb status to get her fans to donate. And it's a bit weird to be like 'hey fans donate to this fund that I haven't donated to myself!' and then acting like it's completely unreasonable for her to donate a normal amount of money.

'I couldn't possibly ask my rich FRIEND to give me money, better ask their FANS who don't know who I am instead!'

Right. Anonymously donate 5k, or 1k. I don't know how rich she is, and I don't want to ask her to foot the bill, but doing something wouldn't go amiss. I can only hope she did privately and anonymously.

Not only that, but asking the celeb friend to promote the GoFundMe.

This type of weird ass logic might be true tho.

Yeah, money can complicate relationships, but considering the circumstances, I'd risk it. It sucks that she and her dad are in this situation, healthcare should be considered a human right.

IA. And i'm willing to bet most people who donate to GoFundMes are middle class - we know rich people give a much lower % of their income to charity than poors, despite having more discretionary income. So she'd rather take small amounts of money from strangers struggling to get by themselves, than accept money from a friend who's a multimillionaire?

I bet she didn't want to come out and ask but would've gladly taken a donation from Megan
