I mean I wouldn’t put it past Selena to be spiteful, but I know Selena has been a fan of Christina’s since before all the Britney stuff. She said Stripped inspired her Revival album - which, too bad it wasn’t as good oop lol.

Though I don’t think they are particularly close. Christina mostly hangs out with her dancers who have been around since the beginning.

I don't remember what innocuous thing Selena said - about Britney's wedding and Selena being there or something? - but Britney took GREAT OFFENCE and kept shading her for several months in random Insta posts.

Initially, Britney said that Selena told her at the wedding “I just want you to be happy”, and B mentioned it was something her mom used to tell her. But after many posts with an unflattering picture of Selena, she started to hint that someone (maybe Paris mom?) said that Selena should dance with Sam or something like that during the party.

A weird one sided beef that only exists in Britney’s head lol She would post a picture of Selena from a photoshoot that she thought was ugly all the time with no context. It was odd.

Honestly I can see how Britney would take that condescendingly, but also Selena grew up fairly religious and I can see Selena authentically meaning well by serving such empty platitudes. Selena can be an asshole sometimes though so maybe there’s more to it than that idk.

But to get blazed earth offended by such a platitude just makes me sad because I doubt Britney and Selena were ever that close. B’s wedding was such a hodgepodge of characters.
