kpop is a big borrower of sounds. I think infusions of Latin music/sounds are always going to be a thing in kpop, but tropical feels a bit dated. Having said that, tropical *was* a phase that was big in kpop (I'm thinking maybe 5-6 years ago) and if there's one thing kpop isn't shy about it's heavily recycling.
Yeah it was big 6 years ago. I only know this because EXO's ko-ko-bop had it's 6th anniversary 4 days ago. But Kard is still sticking to the trop-house sound. Like, I get they have made it their signature sound, but it def feels like it's holding them back.
Oh Kard. Well, at least they are still around? Although if trop house is still their sound maybe they won't break the seven year curse.
That also reminds me six years ago is when Lo Siento (a Latin-inspired song) by Super Junior came out - it featured Leslie Grace, but in SK promotions the female members of Kard did the vocals/dancing.
Yeah. They just came out with Icky last month. They may stay together, but I doubt it. I could see Jiwoo wanting to do other things. And they hardly give lines to the guys. If I were them I'd def want to break free.
B.I. did some solo albums and it seems to have decent streams on spotify. But it could be due to luck of the people he had colab with him? idk. IA though. The boys need them. But looking at the streams of Kard's recent stuff you can tell they are nose diving popularity wise. ounceofluck.gif
Abel sounds asleep on it.
It's a pretty decent song.
